A research technician position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Raffaella Di Micco at the Unit of Senescence in Stem Cell Aging, Differentiation and Cancer at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy in Milan. We are looking for a highly motivated technician with previous expertise in handling small animal models, to work as part of an enthusiastic team of researchers on the impact of cell senescence in the hematopoietic compartment. The lab’s research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying hematopoietic stem cell senescence in response to stress and employs a wide array of molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, imaging and in vivo approaches to identify new therapeutic targets for regenerative medicine applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating research environment strongly committed to translational medicine.
Responsabilities for this position:
-Mouse work (mice handling, in vivo treatments, organs isolation, and analysis)
-Cellular assays (Proliferation, Apoptosis, Clonogenic assays)
-Routine Molecular Biology assays (RT-PCR, NGS library preps)
-Flow cytometry acquisition and data analysis
-Experience with confocal and imaging technologies
-General lab support (Lab ordering, managing equipment, supplies)
-Training of new lab members
Your qualifications:
-Bachelor, Master, PhD or equivalent with strong lab wet experience
-High motivation to work in an international, fast-paced environment
-Experience with FACS analysis and hematopoietic stem cells transplantation are considered a plus
-High accuracy, reliability, precision under time pressure
-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
-Excellent organization skills
-Friendly, collaborative, pro-active mindset
-Good oral and written English skills
