A BIOINFORMATICS CORE FACILITY FOR NEXT-GENERATION SEQUENCING DATA
- 1 Years 2010/2011
- 21.000€ Total Award
Our Bioinformatics Core Facility provides computational support for analysing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. By integrating high-performance computing with current new software tools for NGS analysis, we hope to facilitate leading-edge research and help Telethon investigators to become more computationally competitive in a broad spectrum of biomedical applications. The facility is equipped with two computational clusters (a cluster of 2640-cores for high performance computing and another of 248 cores for high-availability services) for parallel computation, mass storage for database and data mining application, and new bioinformatics software packages. Trained staff are available to address programming, web development, and other computational tasks. Our goal is to promote collaborations and provide assistance to integrate modern computational techniques in biomedical research activities.
